I realize mothers day is already a bit late, but I need to write a card to someone else's mom for tomorrow, what can you say that isn't to sentimental or mushy but still nice?

Well, since you are wanting to give this woman a card there must be a reason. Just say why you are giving it to her...ie: thanks for your help and support, thanks for the dinner invits, etc. Just say whatever the reason is. And good for you for being so thoughtful!
